MTC were initially engaged to advise on the internal fit out, working with the client’s internationally renowned architect.
Our practical real world experience meant high concept ideas such as refrigerated floors and straw insulation were quickly ruled out due to engineering and hygiene issues – replaced by high efficiency refrigeration machinery and building material selection to achieve the customer’s low energy brief.
MTC’s ability to provide a single source mixture of food factory knowledge combined with the ability to create and deal with Planning Applications accelerated the project with internal and external layout issues quickly resolved and an outline £ 1.4M budget cost approval.
Working with the clients management team, a strategic site integration plan was agreed followed by submission of a successful Planning Application, all completed within weeks of our first meeting.
This lead to MTC’s appointment as Principle Contractor for this ongoing project.
As can be seen from the photographs, the new building completely envelopes one of the existing structures and when complete will form the backbone of the site and providing the client with additional production and processing space, staff amenities, offices with room for further expansion.
As a result of the strategic site overview, plans for a £ 1.4M expansion of the existing Dairy Production unit were progressed and agreed as detailed on a separate project profile.
